Those who build their own gaming PC itself together, can save money and select all the components individually.
Update September 2017:
We have updated our DIY PCs. AMD's graphics cards from the Polaris-generation (RX-500 and RX-400 series) but are still poor due to the high demand for the mining of crypto currencies and usually only at comparatively high prices available. The same applies to the new cards Radeon RX Vega 56 and Vega 64 which are moreover previously only found in the reference design commercially.
Also to consider when buying a new PC: Intel's Coffee Lake CPUs are expected for 5 October 2017th They bring first six cores outside of the very expensive high-end segment with itself and could make life more difficult for AMD Ryzen processors. Following our test of Coffee Lake, we will update this purchase advice promptly again.
If you build your gaming PC yourself together, you can not only adapt the components to your exact needs and requirements, but also save money compared to a complete computers off the shelf. Finally, a complete PCs usually have Windows 10, the working hours of the assembly, the profit margin of the seller and the warranty costs are factored in the price that you mitbezahlen. Is even more favorable if you incorporate some components from the old PC, such as the sound card, DVD drive (if at all still required) or hard disk. Is
We have put together PC configurations 500-1500 euros. Focus is an optimum possible price-performance ratio while the prices underlying our price comparison. To that you prepare the best offer, you must therefore usually the individual components bought from several dealers.
"Step-by-step instructions with pictures: For the assembly of a gaming PCs succeed
Since we did always rounded up the prices of the components, but calculated excluding shipping, you should include this ordering with in the calculation. However, many dealers also offer versandkostenfreie deliveries from a given order, so you are served sometimes better with a collection order with one or two dealers than several separate contracts.
Our configurations for gaming PCs in 2017 are not only suitable for putting together a DIY PCs, but also as a checklist for the purchase of a complete PCs. But remember that you have to factor in a complete PC with the same components as in our DIY proposals a surcharge of at least 150 to 300 Euros with.
"What to do if the PC does not boot? First aid for boot problems
For a gaming PC, especially a fast graphics card is important, but also the other components should be carefully selected.
In addition, our compilations are only one point out of many ways in which your future PC could look like, and most components can be used to incorporate in each other's budgets. So, for example, faster (and more expensive) graphics cards are also suitable for cheaper PCs, if you still have room in the budget.
Too big jumps you should not be drawn between the categories, because as the Pentium G4560 500 EUR PC would not allow the graphics card from the more expensive PCs from developing their full power.
Please keep in mind that our DIY PCs are suggestions only and can not serve all needs and tastes the same. Some players want, for example, to overclock their processor and therefore attach great importance to a model with free multiplier, while others are satisfied with a cheap quad-core without free multiplier.
Who also has a Full HD monitor with 60 Hertz, which requires more than then one of the fast graphics cards from the 1300 Euro-PC if he wants to use downsampling for image enhancement in current games. There are many more examples of this kind, but generally players should be happy with all our proposals. For change and optimization suggestions in the comments, we are always grateful.
Optical drives and sound cards
Two components do not appear in our online Buyer's guide: Optical drives such as DVD and Blu-ray burner and sound cards. In the age of digital distribution platforms such as Steam, Origin or Good old games a drive in a gaming PC in our opinion is more to not mandatory. In addition, drives from older PCs can easily continue to use in a new PC, as long as they have a SATA connector and the new housing has appropriate drive bays.
Since many of today's motherboards - even from the entry-level class - also on ordinary sound chip as the Realtek ALC sat 892 and also useful digital-to-analog converters are installed, do not make an investment in a cheap sound card (30 euros) definitely noticeable. Especially with playback devices entry level (Headsets / Headphones to 50 euros, speaker of 100 to 150 euros) the absence of a (cheap) sound card often does not mean a big audible disadvantage.
Therefore, sound cards like the Creative Sound Blaster Z or the ASUS Xonar DX worth today usually not because of their better signal quality, but above all because of the very useful surround simulation to stereo headsets. However, the acoustic benefits are only really audible, if you have a correspondingly high-quality headset / headphones. If this is the case, and also put emphasis on a good surround simulation, then the premium over onboard sound profitable already in the 500-euro PC.
Do you want to buy your PC with a DVD drive and a sound card to, we recommend the Samsung SH-224GB for about 20 euros and the Creative Sound Blaster Z in the "bullk" version for about 70 euros.
to have from 70 Euro: The Creative Sound Blaster Z including microphone. In the bulk version without red trim strip there is the map partly from 60 euros.
